Android 4.4 KitKat on PC with VirtualBox on Windows 7.8.1
If you wish to install the Android 4.4 (Up to 4.4.4) version KitKat on
your Windows 8.1 or 7 PC, here is the simple guide. It can’t be
installed like normal Windows native program, but it can be done with
free desktop virtualization software Oracle VirtualBox. There are few
methods available on internet to install Android OS directly on normal
PC hardware, but these methods are slightly complicated and not
recommended for all computer users
.
By following below method you can install Android 4.4 KitKat and upgrade it to 4.4.4 on Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 PC as another virtual Operating System on Oracle VirtualBox and it doesn’t require any hacking or system changing steps on physical computer. This could be an ideal way to see the new features, interface change, new dialer and others in KitKat on your PC even if your mobile device doesn’t support this release.
This demonstration has been done with current Android 4.4.4 on my Windows 8.1 PC, so it will work perfectly on Windows 8 and 7. Even though official release from Google is not available for X86 and x64 PC hardware yet, we can use another package from famous Android-x86 project team. Of course, you can use this method on Windows XP and Vista computers too as long as you have working VirtualBox.
